Basalt Tape

The advantage of basalt woven tapes over a woven material is that they cover a larger width range. For example, a braided belt can be stretched or compressed to influence not only the width but also the fibre angle. In this way, only one basalt braid strip can be used for a composite component with several layers. The fiber angle should be between 30° and 60°. For reinforcement in the 0° direction, so-called UD threads can be braided in, which can also consist of another material. The basalt fibres we use are particularly suitable for processing with epoxy and polyester systems.
